“I’m elated the Senate has passed this recognition for our hometown heroes who protect and defend our freedoms.”
COLUMBUS—Today the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 45, sponsored by State Senator Sandra O’Brien (R-Ashtabula), which dedicates the bridge on State Route 534 spanning the Mahoning River in the Village of Newton Falls in Trumbull County as the “Veterans Memorial Bridge.”
“This bridge will honor the Veterans of the Village of Newton Falls and Newton Falls Township for their service and sacrifice to the country and their community,” O’Brien said. “I’m elated the Senate has passed this recognition for our hometown heroes who protect and defend our freedoms.”
The proposal for this bill was brought to the legislature by a resolution unanimously passed by the Newton Falls Village Council. Senate Bill 45 has the support of four Veterans groups in Newton Falls: American Legion Post 236, the Army Navy Club, AMVETS Post 112, and VFW Post 3332.
Senate Bill 45 now goes to the Ohio House of Representatives for consideration.
